30 marks for knowledge and understanding. Matching and multiple choice.
25 marks for written answer application questions.
You are ready for the test if you can do the following;

celestial objects, comets, meteors, meteorites, asteroids, planets, stars (such as Polaris, Sirius, Betelgeuse; the planet Venus), constellations, orbital radius, retrograde motion, satellite, galaxies, universe, astronomical units, light years, aurora borealis, solar eclipses, moon phases, rotation, revolution, heliocentric, geocentric etc..
2. -list the planets in order and describe the structure of the solar systems
-compare and contrast the characteristics of the inner and outer planets
*You will be required to analyze planet data in the application section
3. -describe in detail what the solar nebula theory is
-evaluate evidence that supports this theory.
*There is a long answer question based on this.
4.-use the terms luminosity, temperature and colour to describe the characteristics of stars
-describe the life of low mass stars , main sequence stars and massive stars
-use terms such as red giant, super giants, supernova, black hole, dwarf star, fusion,
-describe the life cycle of our sun
5. Students should be able to assess some of the costs, hazards, and benefits of space exploration and the contributions of Canadians to space research and technology;
